La gente ti prende per il culo ogni giorno. Si infilano nella tua vita, ti danno un colpo basso e poi scompaiono. Ti scrutano da edifici alti e ti fanno sentire piccolo. Fanno commenti irriverenti da autobus che implicano che non sei abbastanza sexy e che tutto il divertimento è da qualche altra parte. Sono in TV e fanno sì che la tua ragazza si senta inadeguato. Hanno accesso alla tecnologia più sofisticata che il mondo abbia mai visto e la usano per fare i gradassi con te. Sono pubblicitari e stanno ridendo di te.
Per te, tuttavia, è proibito toccarli. Marchi di fabbrica, proprietà intellettuali e diritti d'autore fanno in modo che i pubblicitari possano dire ciò che vogliono, dove vogliono, con totale impunità.

Mandali al diavolo. Qualsiasi annuncio in uno spazio pubblico che non ti dà nessuna scelta che si veda o no, è tuo. E' lì da prendere, riarrangiare e riusare. Tu puoi fare quello che vuoi con esso. Chiedere il permesso è come chiedere di poter tenere un sasso che qualcuno ti ha appena tirato in testa.

Tu non devi nulla alle aziende. Meno di niente, soprattutto non devi loro alcuna cortesia. Loro devono qualcosa a te. Hanno riarrangiato il mondo per mettersi di fronte a te. Non hanno mai chiesto il tuo permesso, non iniziare nemmeno tu a chiedere il loro.

[People are taking the piss out of you every day. They butt into your life, take a cheap shot at you and then disappear. They leer at you from tall buildings and make you feel small. They make flippant comments from buses that imply you're not sexy enough and that all the fun is happening somewhere else. They are on TV making your girlfriend feel inadequate. They have access to the most sophisticated technology the world has ever seen and they bully you with it. They are The Advertisers and they are laughing at you.
You, however, are forbidden to touch them. Trademarks, intellectual property rights and copyright law mean advertisers can say what they like wherever they like with total impunity.

Fuck that. Any advert in a public space that gives you no choice whether you see it or not is yours. It's yours to take, re-arrange and re-use. You can do whatever you like with it. Asking for permission is like asking to keep a rock someone just threw at your head.

You owe the companies nothing. Less than nothing, you especially don't owe them any courtesy. They owe you. They have re-arranged the world to put themselves in front of you. They never asked for your permission, don't even start asking for theirs.]
